Use of Multiple Ships or Factions During an Event
Purpose: To ensure that fair RP occurs between players in a given encounter involving multiple factions and/or ships.
Definitions:
- Player: A real-life individual sitting in front of a computer.
- Character: These are individual entities under a player's control.
- Zombie: A construct owned by an individual character, used to emulate "extra" characters.
Rules:
- A single player may only control one faction in any given encounter.
- A single player may only control one ship in any given encounter.
- A player may control a character or zombie on another ship in a secondary capacity, but that character or zombie may not issue LITE/SCRAT commands.
Explanation:
With the recent changes to the LITE/SCRAT systems that allow a single character or zombie to control multiple aspects of a ship, it may become tempting for a player to use multiple ships to gain the upper hand in a situation, or call in "help" from a second faction to back up the first faction by using a second character or zombie controlled by the same player. The spirit of this rule is to prevent a single player from single-handedly ganging up on on another player, using any combination of multiple ships and factions, and it is the spirit of this rule that takes precedent over the letter of this rule.
